Click play before scrolling | “Lights & Motion” – Wild HeartUnited Kingdom (well really Bristol + London) – the last stop before home and also my last trip for a while (or so I thought).
The majority of my trip had been reunions with family, friends from home and friends I’ve met along the way. So it was no big surprise when most of my friends from the “Kiwi group” (friends I made back at the start of my trip in New Zealand) all happened to be in London the same weekend! (We missed you Orla!!!!).
After a continuously delayed flight, I was welcomed to Bristol with the glorious rain (everyone told me it’ll be mostly muggy but I didn’t mind). The first reunion sort to say, was with Tony and Teena, family from my Dad’s side who I hadn’t seen in ages. Not only did they let me crash at their place but they showed me around Bristol and their presence provided me the comfort I needed before trekking home. The next day, I caught the earliest bus to London and met with Victor, Abby, Alice, Lucy and Mollie. None of us thought we’d see each other like this but it felt like everything came full circle. We reminisced about our time together in New Zealand, I shared stories from the rest of my adventures and caught up on all that they’ve been up to once they returned to their respective homes.
The remaining days consisted of catching up on sleep and rest, exploring local Bristol spots with Teena and preparing myself for my surprise early trip back home. I have a journal entry that goes deeper into all my feelings from wrapping up 7ish months of travel but I’m not sure if I’m ready to share it just yet. Maybe later today…we’ll see.
Until then,
N
